POSITION: Employment and Education Specialist
DIVISION/PROGRAM: Housing and Family Stabilization-Homelessness Program
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in a Human Service related field plus at least five years’ experience working with multiple issue families and children. Must have one-year experience working with low-income families. Must have professional experience working with homelessness and domestic violence issues. Experience working with employment and education issues preferred. Understanding of enrollment and financial assistance guidelines for vocational schools and institutions of higher education . Knowledgeable about current and relevant trends in conducting job searches required. Experience working with and utilizing services through evidence-based vocational rehabilitation is preferred. Must be able to develop and maintain robust working relationships with various community providers, including strong partnerships with businesses and employers willing and able to support Family Tree’s program participants in the workplace.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coordinating all aspects of employment and education activities for clients including building potential employer relationships, employment training, search, placement and employer follow-up as well as the development of educational opportunities based on client goals (GED, certificate programs and college).
SCHEDULE: Part-time-20 hours, Non-exempt, varied Monday-Friday
