Cassidy had trouble coping with day-to-day activities. Her abusive relationship ended but things were not okay. A friend shared that Family Tree provides domestic violence services and after some thought Cassidy made the call. After meeting with a Domestic Violence Outreach Advocate, Cassidy began attending the Domestic Violence Outreach Program's (DVOP) weekly support group. Finding others with similar experiences helped Cassidy feel understood and less alone.
Attending the meetings and sharing with the group led to healing. Through a referral from DVOP, Cassidy was able to begin sessions with a local therapist who specializes in working with survivors of domestic violence. Each of these steps helped move Cassidy toward accomplishing goals, accepting the past and creating a more stable and secure future.
