SafeCare® Colorado
SafeCare® Program
Family Tree SafeCare® Colorado is a flexible, free in-home visiting program for families with at least one child in the home, five years of age or younger. The program offers three topics to choose from: Home Safety, Child Health and Parent-Child Interactions. Each topic can last six to eight visits. Families can choose to participate in one, two or all three of the topics. Family Tree SafeCare® works with families located within Adams and Jefferson counties.
Parents and caregivers work side-by-side in the home with a Parent Support Provider to build upon the skills they already have. SafeCare® Colorado provides parents and caregivers with free items such as electrical outlet covers, door latches and a health manual developed by pediatricians.

SafeCare® topics
Home Safety
We discuss the most common household hazards and how to recognize and remove them to make your home a safe place for your child(ren). With this topic, families receive free childproofing supplies.
Child Health
Families can choose to discuss child health, where families will learn a systematic decision making process to determine what level of care is needed when a child is either sick or injured. With this topic, families receive a free health manual, a first-aid kit and a digital thermometer.
Parent-Infant or Parent Child Interaction
We discuss development milestones and age appropriate activities in order to promote healthy development or how to structure daily activities to promote positive interactions with children and decrease challenging behaviors. Discussions are personalized to the actual age of children in your home.
