Generational Opportunities to Achieve Long-term Success (GOALS)
The GOALS program is a Two-Generation (2Gen) housing program for families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness from the city of Aurora and Arapahoe and Douglas County. GOALS provides families with a private room while they develop long-term goals for stability. Families are provided a safe space for four to nine months and one year of follow-up support.
The GOALS Program helps stabilize families experiencing homelessness, empowering them to move from poverty and homelessness by focusing on services and opportunities that address the needs of all family members using a 2Gen approach. Through this empowerment method, we help families secure safe and stable housing; increase their overall health and well-being; improve employment situations and economic assets; better position children for academic success and enhance connections for these families within their community.

Services provided
GOALS provides the following services for our residents:
- A safe and secure temporary home with no-cost access for participants to food and meals, laundry facilities, personal care items, etc.
- A dedicated case manager to work individually with client households (adults and children), providing wide-ranging case management and support toward the accomplishment of a self-sufficiency plan, to include assistance in locating and applying for various housing programs
- On-site staffing presence 24 hours per day, seven days per week
- Early childhood education partnerships with Head Start and other early childhood programs
- Postsecondary adult education support and other pathways to employment
- Employment services including soft skills training; computer training; career preparation; access to professional clothing; and post-employment support to help sustain long-term employment
- Services and assistance that encourages building social networks within and outside the program
- On-site classes in parenting, finance and substance use peer groups
- Referrals for health care, specialty care, dental care, mental health care and substance abuse treatment
- Community garden boxes
- Partnership connections for academic tutoring to help school-age children with schoolwork and other academic needs
